This week second graders learned about radial lines and used them in their Arlington Heights Heroes backgrounds. We used rulers to measure and draw each line, which took some time...but the hard work definitely paid off! We noticed how these radial lines help lead the viewers eye to our super awesome superhero poses! Some classes got to add their superhero silhouettes this week, and the classes that didn't will next week.
Second graders began their new project this week by discussing the differences/similarities between superheroes and heroes. Our art project will be based around how anyone can be a hero to make our communities better. Before we get started though, the students had to make a spectacular superhero pose. While we alternated taking pictures of our poses, we also drew ourselves as superheroes and shared at the end of class.
