Go to the map of Chicago here. Look through the city at the various murals. Pick one of your favorites and answer these questions:
- What is the art about?
- How do you know what it's about?
- What is the mood of the art? Do the colors affect the mood?
- Why did the artist choose to make their art outside, and in that specific spot?
- What did they use to make their art?
- Why do you think they used specific materials to make their art?
"I think this art is about a goddess who protects bulls. I think it's about that because there is a magical looking lady holding a bull. The mood is calming. The artist used cool colors so I think that makes it calm. I think the artist put this outside so a lot of people can see it. It is used to protect the Chicago Bulls by the United Center. The artist used spray paint. The probably used spray paint because it sprays a lot at once and this picture is large." |
