Time in the art room this week was spent diving into our projects. While the Kindergartners were finishing up their pumpkin line drawings, and the second graders finishing their warm/cool color paintings, the fourth graders were starting their contour line tree drawings, and the fifth graders were starting their selfie portraits..
1st Grade
After revisiting Monet's garden and talking about the colors Monet used to paint his water garden, first graders used watercolors to paint while listening to the sounds of running water in nature. Next week they will adorn their colorful paintings with a beautiful lily, just like from Monet's garden! |
3rd Grade
This week third graders transitioned from creating monochromatic backgrounds to starting their "spooky architecture." They learned how architects use shapes and lines to create architecture, and began constructing their own using shapes and lines. Next week they will get the chance to customize their houses to make them truly spooktacular!
