The 2nd graders at Windsor school are no longer just average 2nd graders, they are Heroes of Arlington Heights. Their super silhouettes stand out against the contrasting radial lines as they watch over the skyline of Arlington Heights. Knowing now that anyone any age can be a hero, the 2nd graders came up with ways that they will truly be Arlington Heights Heroes.

This week second graders learned about radial lines and used them in their Arlington Heights Heroes backgrounds. We used rulers to measure and draw each line, which took some time...but the hard work definitely paid off! We noticed how these radial lines help lead the viewers eye to our super awesome superhero poses! Some classes got to add their superhero silhouettes this week, and the classes that didn't will next week.
The 2nd graders continued working on their Paul Klee inspired fish this week, with some students finishing their project, and some getting very close to finishing! Looks like the commons is going to be a prime fishing spot with all these fish! The second graders continued coloring their Paul Klee inspired fish this week. They keep looking better and better!
Professional artists take their time when creating art, making sure they use bright bold colors and leave no white spaces. This is exactly what I witnessed the 2nd graders doing this week while they were coloring their Paul Klee inspired fish. Using either warm or cool colors, students created color patterns on their fish.
