Find clothing you have for each color of the rainbow. For example, a red shirt, then an orange shirt, and so on. Take a picture of you in each color, and then put the photos together to create a rainbow. You can put the pictures together in a Google program or use Be Funky. Share it on Flipgrid when you're finished!

There are many careers in the field of design. You might not even know all of them! Visit the website Kids Think Design and investigate the different careers. Pick your favorite and share on Flipgrid why you think you would enjoy that job.
Design a fashion line. Think about a theme such as sports or colors. If you want to share your designs once you've finished, you can post them on Flipgrid. Grid drawing allows artists to draw pictures more exact. Find a picture you want to draw, then go to the website Photoshop Editor. Click on "New Project." Next, go to "File" and click "Open." Find the picture you want to draw. One a piece of paper, use a ruler to make the same grid (1 inch). Follow the picture one square at a time, drawing what you see inside each square. If you need help, you can email Ms. K. Share your art on Flipgrid when you're finished!
Design a sports card of yourself, a pet, animal, or cartoon character. Think about the design of it. What colors look good? Where should the text go and what font should it be? Below is a video you can watch about designing sports cards. You can design your card by hand, or you can do it digitally. The Be Funky photo editor is great to use. You can share your artwork on Flipgrid when you are finished. On Flipgrid, you can watch videos of other students art, and videos by me. I'll leave a comment video if I see your art!
Design a cardboard sculpture using your initials. Your initials are the first letter of your first, middle, and last name. You may either do all three, only two, or only one. Creating art on recyclable objects turns garbage into something beautiful and helps save the planet! "OakOak" is a street artist in Chicago. After he is done spray painting, he turn the empty cans into art. Visit the Chicago Park District Website to check out different public sculpture art around the city! Post a video of your art onto Flipgrid if you would like to share it!
Look at the examples of lettering found in street art at this site: Lettering Murals and Street Art. Use the pictures you see to get ideas for your own lettering. Think about the colors and shapes of the letters. Visit the website "Graffiti Fonts." Generate your name, a positive word, or a positive quote using the different fonts. When you find your favorite, try to draw it.

5th graders learned about perspective and how people relate emotions to colors. They thought about their personalities and what color matches their personality the most. This color was then used to paint a self-portrait. They had to make tints, tones, and shades of the one color they chose to show lightness and darkness in their portrait.
